Alone at Last!

THE PLAY​

​

Smeraldina, a much-beleaguered employee of Pantalona and Dottoressa, is finally taking a well-earned vacation to spend some time alone communing with nature. But it doesn't take long for her employers and fellow employees, Pedrolina and Zanetta, to feel her absence. After a series of mishaps, they decide that hiding out in the woods sounds like a great idea and crash her trip. With no experience camping, they make a mess of her things, ultimately leaving her stranded on a hike overnight! But with the help of an experienced thru-hiker they meet along the way, called Capitana, they resolve to brave the woods and rescue her.​​

THE ROLE

​Built and tailored skills specific to stage managing the commedia dell’arte performance style and unique rehearsal process. Took detailed blocking notes based on live, devised work and a fully improvised script. Managed daily responsibilities including sending timely rehearsal/performance calls and reports each day. Kept rehearsal room running smoothly by calling breaks, recording rehearsal reports, and presetting and striking set and props. Held responsibility for venue management including rented rehearsal spaces and outdoor performance venue. Ran fight call and opened house at top of performances. Performed technical elements during performances including music and sound.
