To thee and thy company I bid a hearty welcome!

The Tempest, V.i

Grace Elizabeth studied at Loyola University Chicago, pursuing her B.A. in Theatre with minors in Art History and Shakespeare Studies. Her academic work focused on ancient Greek theatre and Shakespeare and incorporated her interdisciplinary background as an art history student. Her research has also focused on women throughout theatrical histories, propelled by her experience as a founding member of the Women in Theatre ensemble at LUC. Most recently, her work with Laughing Stock Theatre had an all-female cast, focusing on female characters in commedia dell'arte. As a stage manager with Laughing Stock, Grace Elizabeth was able to apply her experience with both new and devised works, as well as site-specific, outdoor, and/or immersive theatre settings. As a director, she particularly enjoys bringing performances to life through Viewpoints, Stanislavski, and Linklater techniques, and is always curious about new methodologies for artists. Her work as a director and stage manager has been informed by experience as an actor, technician, and designer. Grace Elizabeth believes that theatre is the most powerful storytelling medium, and that every person has a story to tell.
